SVKM’s NMIMS Shirpur Campus organized A Two Day Hands-On Training Workshop on "Animal Handling, Routes of Drug Administration and Blood Withdrawal Techniques" for M. Pharm. (Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Technology, and Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance) second-year and B. Pharm. fourth-year students, Research scholars, and faculty members. The workshop was organized by The Department of Pharmacology, SPTM, Shirpur.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Sunita Patil, Director, MPTP Shirpur. In his welcome note, Dr. S. S. Pancholi, Associate Dean, SPTM Shirpur, highlighted the significance of mastering these essential skills. Dr. G. L. Gupta provided an insightful overview, followed by an in-depth session by Dr. Ravindra Babu Pingili on "Techniques of animal handling, routes of drug administration, and blood withdrawal.”
Participants, grouped under the guidance of dedicated faculty mentors and M. Pharmacy (Pharmacology) student trainers, received hands-on experience in various techniques, including oral, intraperitoneal, and intravenous drug administration on Day 1, and blood withdrawal on Day 2. The workshop concluded with a quiz, reinforcing the practical knowledge gained.
